Welcome to Dinny Goonan Family Estate, where you can taste and enjoy our wines at our relaxed and informal cellar door, situated in a picturesque vineyard setting and surrounded by a rural tranquility that is broken only by the chatter of the Crimson Rosellas and Blue Winged Grass parrots that have made the Estate their home. Dinny Goonan Family Estate is a small family run winery and vineyard that was established in 1989. We are one of a handful of families pioneering viticulture and winemaking in the Otway area of southern Victoria. Our focus is in the production of Shiraz and Riesling, with with limited quantities of Cabernets, a Semillon / Sauvignon and Sparkling wine available to Cellar Door only customers. With an increase in production in recent years, our wines have begun to enjoy Wine Show success. Our Cellar Door is open between 11.00 am and 5.00pm on weekends and public holidays from November to mid-June and every day in January. We also offer vineyard platters that feature regional produce to compliment our wines and make the best coffee in the district. We hope to see you soon. |

James Halliday, writing in the Weekend Australian, has written enthusiastically about the Dinny Goonan 2008 Early Harvest Riesling, awarding it 94 points out of 100 (that’s a Gold medal score).
James noted that the wine caught him by surprise and added “you can’t argue about the wine with its sunburst of gloriously juicy sweet lime fruit on the palate, perfectly balanced and corralled by the vibrant acidity on the finish.”
