| Early Harvest Riesling 2009 |
|
The fruit for the Early Harvest Riesling is picked as the grapes begin to ripen, producing a low alcohol wine in an off-dry style. Appearance: Pale straw with light gold hues. Nose: Apple, pear and stonefruit flowers, spice, some lime and hints of musk. Palate: Beguiling and intense with apple, pear, lime and a touch of aniseed. The sugar and acid tango across the palate to a zingy finish. Citrus flavours linger. Serving suggestions: A versatile wine. Excellent as an aperitif. The low alcohol makes it an ideal luncheon wine. Matches well with vegetarian dishes, spicy asian and middle eastern food styles, white meats and salads. Try it at the end of a meal either matched to a fruit platter or with a sharp cheese such as a Stilton. Awards:
